GAPS Events

Events

GAPS offers workshops, work discussion groups, and conferences to the Social Work community. GAPS events offer a space to connect and recuperate, and form new relationships with like-minded colleagues.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, we have made use of online spaces to deliver these activities and continue to offer spaces for social workers to connect, reflect and learn. In doing so we have explored the benefits of working in this way, whilst also considering what can be lost. In the future GAPS hopes to provide a mixture of in-person and online activities.

Most GAPS events are free, and, when we meet in person, lunch and refreshments are provided. Events are held around the UK. In recent years GAPS visited London, Bristol, Swansea, Taunton, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Birmingham, Glasgow and York.

Our listings also include events held by other organisations, which we think you might be interested in.

If the cost of attending an event is a barrier...

GAPS members are able to apply for practice development bursaries to support with fees or travel costs for training events.  Click here for more information.

Proposals for GAPS events...

What would you like to attend?

We are eager to offer a full calendar of online and in-person workshops, conferences, lectures and discussion groups.  We are really keen to hear from people who have something to share with our audience.  We would like to hear from you about ideas for an event.

Do you know someone who might like to present to a GAPS audience? Is that you?
