We always get many more Social Workers register for our workshops than actually attend on the day. We know this is due to the unpredictable nature of social work; people really want to attend, but things crop up that they have to prioritise over training.
Generally we can accommodate unpredictable numbers, however, Indie Larby’s Harmful Sexual Behaviour workshop is a bit different and requires a more definite number of people (between 14 and 18). We know this will be a popular event and we want to ensure its success and that it is available to people in as many of the local services as possible.
Often attendees tell us they have taken annual leave to be sure they can be there. We would like to find another way around this. So, on this occasion, we will be asking for an additional level of commitment from service leaders and managers in order that individual’s time will be protected, or another person is ready to take their place.
In answering the final question, please let us know who you need to get this support from in your organisation and whether you are happy for us to contact them directly.
